ORANGE — The threat of inclement weather has once again impacted a local event this spring.

Ashley Mahana, coordinator of the Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau, has announced the Kree Harrison concert scheduled for Saturday night, May 30, at the Orange Riverfront Pavilion in downtown Orange has been canceled due the likelihood of bad weather.
“The forecast calls for a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain that is suspected to increase Saturday evening,” Mahana stated in a press release. “The city staff will work to reschedule the event to be announced at a later date.”
The Kree Harrison concert was an added feature of this year’s DSRA “Shootout on the Sabine” boat races, which will be held from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 on the Sabine River at the City of Orange Boat Ramp. The boat races will continue as planned.
Earlier this year, the Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau canceled “Art in the Park,” which was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21 due to the threat of rain. The decision proved to be a smart one as several inches of rain drenched Orange County that day.
Art in the Park was rescheduled to early May and was met with a huge turnout by area residents and some of the best weather this spring.
