Orange resident becoming king of ‘Ts’

ORANGE — It all started with a dollar.

That is what Seth Hancock, 25, will say when asked about his silk screening shop, 245kingthreads.

Hancock, a 2005 graduate of WO-S, started designing T-shirts in 2011.

“I started screen printing in 2012 and love it,” Hancock said. “It is work, but I love what I am doing.”

The father of four ranging from 4 months to 6 years of age, Hancock followed a friend’s suggestion to design shirts when he was out of work.

“It could be bigger and better if I born with a silver spoon,” Hancock said. “I love being my own boss.”

Hancock does work part-time but hopes to grow his own business.

“In five years, I hope to be able to sell supplies, have contracts and employees.” Hancock said.

Currently, Hancock is the one who designs and prints the shirts. He is teaching his girlfriend, Mykeisha Hartfield, so she can help with orders.

245kingthreads has several styles available.

“Threads is mainly hip hop or urban,” Hancock said. “There is a ladies line called Everything Pink.”

The business operates mainly by word of mouth but does have an online store available at http://245kingthreads.storenvy.com
