VIDEO: Sometimes things do go bump in the night

ORANGE — Everyday is Halloween for the Paranormal Research Consultants.

PRC has investigated several locations throughout Orange County since the group formed in 2009.

Buddy Courts and Michael Delafosse met through another group of consultants before starting a group of their own.

The group has been contacted by at least two popular television shows because of the research PRC has done to help families determine what kind of activity they are experiencing within their homes.

One home the group recently investigated and confirmed there was an anomaly within the house, has since only experienced seeing shadows but no other issues.

“We are not just there  to prove the existence of something supernatural, but also to help calm the homeowners,” Courts said. “We want to help the clients, comfort them.”

Courts and Delefosse said they were always drawn towards the paranormal which inspired they to join a club.

“The first group was too large,” Delefosse said. “Buddy and I work well together. We found that more than four is too many.”

The group, in-between investigating buildings, homes and other locations, has also starting training a new group that recently formed in the area.

“We do all our own videos and make a documentary on the people whose home we are investigating,” Courts said. “While this is a hobby, we also enjoy giving back to the community.”

The group investigates most of the year, taking a break from mid-November through March.

The furlough allows the members to research new equipment and techniques available for investigations.

“Investigating is not just about discovering light anomalies,” Courts said. “Though they are the ones most people are familiar with, there is more to confirming or debunking paranormal actvity.”
