ORANGE — There are some situations a parent should never face.

Taylor’s Gift is an exceptionally well written story about the loss of a child, the grieving process and how one family turned tragedy into a gift.

Taylor was a unique thirteen year old when her life was cut short during a family vacation. The last thing one would expect while enjoying time away from the normal busy schedules of daily life.

The book starts just moments before tragedy strikes the family, turning their world upside down. The questions the parents had to face and the choices they made turned their loss into a gift for others when Todd and Tara Storch donated Taylor’s organs.

The story is not just about how the family survived the loss of a child but also about the birth of Taylor’s Gift Foundation. Taylor’s father co-founded the foundation with his wife to promote organ donation and registration.

The book is written by Todd and Tara Storch with Jennifer Schuchmann. It is written in such a way that one can feel and understand what each parent experienced as they worked through their grief and faith.

The story is extremely emotional, touching and inspiring.

Taylor’s Gift: A Courageous Story of Giving Life and Renewing Hope, 336 pages, published by Revell, is classified as a Memoir/Inpirational.
