The Orange Leader
Residents on Sikes Road in Orange are upset over the litter along the road.
C.A. Dorman, a concerned citizen, said he spoke with Orange City Manager Shawn Oubre concerning the litter.
“He had signs put up,” Dorman said. “He even replaced one when I called to tell him someone took one down.”
The Do Not Litter signs are placed approximately 250 feet apart and there is approximately 200 feet of litter inbetween the signs.
“It was not like this when I moved out here in April of ‘08,” Henry Maddox said.
Citizens said that the city or county would bring prisoners out to the area to pick up the debris but they had not been seen this year.
“Cross Country kids run along here and several residents walk here,” Dorman said.
Keep Orange County Beautiful has a litter button to report littering at http://www.kocb.org/index.html
The website states, “When you see litter thrown or flying out of a vehicle, intentionally or accidentally, take down the following information—license plate number, make and color of vehicle, date and time, location, who tossed the litter, and what was tossed.”
