ORANGE — Fuel prices in Orange County remain some of the most affordable in the state.

Retail gasoline prices across Texas decreased a penny this past week, and, according to AAA Texas, the average price at the pump is $3.34 per gallon.

The Texas survey found Corpus Christi with the state’s cheapest gasoline at $3.18 per gallon, but, fuel stations across Orange County match that figure.

A survey of more than 50 fuel locations in Orange County revealed an average price of slightly $3.18 per gallon as well for regular unleaded gasoline.

Dallas and Fort Worth tied for most expensive gasoline at $3.41 per gallon, according to the Associated Press.

Experts say recent Midwest storms resulted in power outages that provided a catalyst for some higher retail gasoline prices.

A survey of 24 fuel stops in the greater Orange-area, which includes Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst and Little Cypress, revealed an average price of $3.18 per gallon, which was the lowest in Orange County. The highest advertised price was $3.42 per gallon at a fuel stop on Strickland Drive.

In the Bridge City and Orangefield area, a survey of more than one dozen fuel locations revealed an average price of slightly more than $3.19 per gallon. The lowest advertised price found was $3.15 per gallon, while the highest advertised price was at $3.24 per gallon in Bridge City.

A survey of 16 fuel locations in Vidor, Rose City and Pine Forest revealed an average price of slightly less than $3.19 per gallon on Friday. This included two locations on South Main with an advertised price of $3.14 per gallon. The highest advertised price was $3.27 found at a convenience store on State Highway 12 in Vidor.
