ORANGE — Mathews benefit

A benefit will be held for cancer patient Dorothy Mathews of Vidor starting at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20, in the parking lot of Market Basket in the 800 block of North Main Street in Vidor. Mathews is battling liver cancer and is on the transplant list. Proceeds will provide assistance with prescription medication. BBQ plates are $8 each and consist of brisket, link, potato salad, beans, and bread. Desserts and beverages will also be available. Donations welcome.

BAL Art Camp

The Beaumont Art League, 2675 Gulf St. in Beaumont, will hold a summer art camp for children ages 6-12 years. Sessions will be from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., July 15 - July19 and July 22 – July 26. Red Hot Flashers

SETX Stamp Club

The Southeast Texas Stamp Club will meet 7 p.m., Thursday, July 18, at the Mid-Jefferson County meeting room, 7965 Viterbo Road in Nederland. Exit to the Jack Brooks Regional Airport, pass the Chevrolet Sales and take the first right by the License Center, come to the end of the road and turn left, it will be the 2nd building on the left. All meetings are followed by auctions and swapping of stamps. Visitors are welcome, childrern who visit will be given free stamps to start or add to their collection. Monthly BBQ

The Fraternal Orders of Eagles, Sabine Aerie 2523, located at 803 N 28th St, Orange, Tx. Is having the monthly BBQ Thursday, July 18. Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo

The Orange County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo will be held at 8 p.m., nightly, Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20, at the OCSP Rodeo Arena, 6610 FM 105 in Orange, located one-half mile east of State Highway 62. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Call 409-886-2638 for information.

Band Boosters Garage Sale

Vidor High School Band Boosters will be having a huge garage sale starting at 7 a.m., Saturday, July 20 in the Oak Forest Elementary cafeteria on State Highway 12 in Vidor with 100 percent of the money raised going to band students in the Mighty Pirate Marching Band at Vidor High School.

Memorial Service

OC Farmers Market

The Orange County Farmers Market is back in season twice-per-week from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., Saturday, and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., every Wednesday, in the parking lot of Big Lots on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst. Items available include green beans, sugar snap peas, yellow squash, potatoes, red onions, mustard greens, tender greens, blueberries, blueberry bushes, plants, homemade jams and jellies, local honey, fresh eggs, homemade cookies and granola, fresh bread and more.The public is welcome to attend.

Farmers Market

VFW Recognition Program

Master Gardeners

The monthly meeting of the Orange County Master Gardeners is held the second Thursday of the month at the Salvation Army building on the corner of MLK and Strickland in Orange. At 6 p.m. is a potluck supper and the business meeting and/or program will start at 6:30 p.m. In July we will have a program on hydroponics. At the end of each meeting door prizes will be drawn. LCHS Multi-Class Reunion

The Little Cypress High School graduating classes of 1953 through 1970 have scheduled a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013. An LC Alumni reception dinner and dance will he held at VFW Post 2775, 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange from 7:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. LC Friends Reception, with snacks, appetizers and drinks provided, will be from 2 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6 p.m. Cost is $35 per person.
