ORANGE — A big donation made by a member of Chemical Row will go a long way in helping numerous organizations.

INVISTA of Orange presented a check for $52,000 to the United Way on Wednesday afternoon with the bulk of the funds, approximately $44,000 going directly to the United Way office in Orange while the remainder of the donation will be split amongst other United Way offices in the area.

According to George Russell of INVISTA in Orange, contributions from employees totaled more than $37,000 while INVISTA’s corporate offices donated another $15,000.

Russell said donations by INVISTA employees have been increasing considerably. Donations improved by 40 percent two years ago and increased another 14 percent over this past year.

“This check will help us fund our agencies, who are seeing more first time clients than ever before,” said Linn Cardner, executive director of the United Way in Orange County for the past 25 years. “We are very pleased and appreciative with the amount of giving from the INVISTA employees and the corporation.”
