Winners announced for annual Christmas parade

ORANGE — The annual Christmas parade may have had its share of troubles getting started, but it turned out to be a great success at its conclusion.

The 2013 Orange Jaycees Annual Christmas Parade was rescued by The Kiwanis Club of Orange and, after a postponement and a cancellation, was rescheduled for Dec. 19 and had another well attended event.

A total of 54 entries, ranging from marching bands, drill teams, multi-colored floats, fire trucks, vehicles and horses traversed the streets of Orange from MacArthur Drive to Green Avenue as hundreds upon hundreds of area residents turned out for the parade of lights.

The winners for this year’s parade are as follows:

Grand Marshall Choice: – Sabine Federal Credit Union

Marching Division:  1st Place - LC-M Honey Bears; 2nd Place - WO-S Fillies

Commercial Divison: 1st Place - Advantage Plus Home Health Care; 2nd place- KOGT

General Division: 1st Place – LC-M Girls Soccer; 2nd Place – Toys for Tots

Religious Division: 1st Place – Little Cypress Baptist Church

Judges Choice: 1st Place - Advantage Plus Home Health Care; 2nd Place – LC-M Honey Bears; 3rd Place – Little Cypress Dazzlers
