ORANGE — Christmas Stroll

Service Guild Christmas

The Lutcher Theater Service Guild will hold its annual Christmas dinner at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, on the third floor of the Lutcher Theater in Orange.

Toilet Paper Tea

Southeast Texas Hospice, 912 W. Cherry in Orange, invites the public to attend its annual Toilet Paper Tea event from 10 a.m. -2  p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13. Donations of supplies or funds are encouraged. Call 409-886-0622 for info.

Red Hot Flashers

The Red Hot Flashers of the Red Hat Society will meet at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Brown Center for its annual Christmas party. Each member is to bring an ornament to exchange. Birthday lady is Lady Shiann (Shirley Wolfford). Call Southern Belle, Mary Mazoch for tickets.

Public Education Forum

The Orange County school superindents will conduct an open meeting from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 in the Orange Public Library meeting room. They will present possible upcoming changes in Texas public education, mainly pertaining to testing and school finance. This is an important meeting to inform the public regarding possible changes to how public schools in Texas will conduct business for years to come. The council room is located at 220 N. 5th Street in Orange.

Heroines of Jericho

The Heroines of Jericho will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at Gate City Masonic Lodge No. 31, 1017 Mill at John Street in Orange. All Heroines and Knights are asked to be present. Initiation of two prospective daughters in waiting. Regalia is required.

    Texas 4-H Youth and Development 2014 Salute to Excellence Honoree is Kathy Hester of Orange County. Mrs. Hester has been a part of 4-H for over 30 years. She is the club manager for the Mighty Pirates 4-H in Vidor.
