City Council

The City of Bridge City will hold its regularly scheduled council meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, at City Hall, 260 Rachal in Bridge City. The public is invited.

Red Hot Flashers

The Red Hot Flashers of the Red Hat Society will meet at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Bando’s restaurant, 215 N. 11th St. in Beaumont. Members will carpool from Kroger’s on 16th Street in Orange. Meet at 11 a.m. Birthday ladies are: Queen Helene, Helen Broussard, and Lady Betty Boop, Betty Morgan. After lunch we will shop until we drop. All ladies are welcome. For information call 409-886-1609.

Author Meet and Greet

The second Local Author Meet & Greet Book Signing Event, “TAKE TWO,” featuring more than two dozen authors, will be held from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at The Community House, 304 S. Elizabeth in Kirbyville, across the street from the library.

AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.

Pool Tournament

VFW Post 8246, 2110 S. Main in Vidor, invites the public to its weekly pool tournament every Friday night. Ages 21 and older only. Call 409-768-1482 for info.
