VIDOR — Vintage automobiles, live music and the holiday spirit make the annual Christmas event in Vidor one to not be missed.

The Vidor Chamber of Commerce presents the annual Vidor Classic Christmas Cruise from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, in the parking lot of Capital One, 1255 N. Main in Vidor. The event is free and open to the public.

The family oriented event will feature classic automobiles on display, live music, a street dance, and numerous vendors offering plenty of great items for the holiday season.

Entries are still being accepted into the car show and all participants are asked to make a donation of either canned food goods or dry food goods which will be donated to a local charity. All people attending this year’s event are encouraged to make donations as well to help out those in need this holiday season.

Line-up for the car cruise up and down Main Street will be at 4 p.m., with the cruise beginning at approximately 5 p.m. The annual Christmas Tree lighting event will be held at 6 p.m.

Attending this year’s event will be Santa Claus, who will be making sure to get updates from children on their Christmas wish lists, and Mr. Saint Nick, Bradley Antill, and Miss Merry Christmas, Maegan White, from Vidor High School, will be there as well.

Live music is always part of the annual holiday extravaganza and returning performers are Na Na Sha from Gonzales, La. The band will blow you away with its covers of great classics from the early days of rock and roll, such as “At the Hop,” “Twist and Shout,” “My Girl,” “Earth Angel” and dozens more.

Call the Vidor Chamber of Commerce at 409-769-6339 for an application or for more information on this event.
