FORT WORTH, Texas —
A Texas man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her 8-year-old son before fleeing to Oklahoma has been charged with capital murder.
The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office said Cedric Allen Ricks also was charged Friday with serious bodily injury to a child. The woman's 12-year-old son was wounded in the Wednesday night attack at their apartment in Bedford, a Fort Worth suburb.
The only one uninjured was Roxann Sanchez's infant son, whose father is Ricks.
Prosecutors haven't decided if they'll seek the death penalty against Ricks.
He was free on bail from an assault charge stemming from allegations that he choked Sanchez in November. She also had claimed he was rough with their baby.
Ricks remains jailed in Oklahoma, where he was arrested late Wednesday.
