Church to hold seminar on synthetic drugs

A local church will hold a special seminar this Sunday to inform the public on the dangers of synthetic drugs.

First United Methodist Church Praise Center, 502 N. Sixth St. in Orange, will hold a free seminar on synthetic drugs and bath salt Seminar from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23. The public is invited to attend this free informational program.

The presentation by Deputy John Badeaux of the Orange County Sheriff’s office will educate on the dangers of the Synthetic Drugs known as Herbal Incense, and Bath Salts.

The presentation will include visual aids that will allow the class to see the packages of the herbal incense and bath salt, and will also cover the affect of the drugs. This seminar will converse about how easy it is for young and old individuals to purchase the drugs over the Internet.

Any parent, teacher, community leader, business person or other interested adults are welcome. This seminar is not intended for teens, but parents are encouraged to learn more about the newest dangers for our youth.
