Fish Dinners

St. Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus Council 13825 is selling fish dinners in the San Damiano Center, behind the church, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., every Friday, during Lent through April 11 at 4300 Meeks Drive in Orange. Cost is $8 and includes two pieces of fish, French fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, drink and dessert. Available for dine in or carryout.



Lenten Fish finners

The Knights of Columbus will offer fish dinners from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., every Friday during Lent through April 11 at the Bridge City KC Hall on West Roundbunch, adjacent to St. Henry Catholic Church. Cost is $8 and includes fried fish, French fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. Available for dine-in or take out. Delivery available for orders of 10 or more. Walk-A-Thon and Picnic

Salem United Methodist Church will hold its first ever Walk-A-Thon and Picnic on Saturday, March 8, at Claiborne West Park. The Walk-A-Thon is from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m., and picnic will follow immediately. Registration is $20 per person or $100 per team. Proceeds will help support Salem UMC Community Outreach program. Smoked links, chips and drink will be sold for $5. Plaques awarded to most enthusiastic walker, first to cross finish line and for most pledges collected. Financial Ministry Seminar

Starlight COGIC and FelMar Financial Ministry presents “Building Wealth from the Inside Out” from 9:30 a.m. - noon, Saturday, March 15 in the E.B. Lindsey Family Life Center, 2800 Bob Hall Road in Orange. This is a free workshop designed to teach the Biblical principles of finance. It will address address stewardship, budgeting, debt elimination, saving and investing, and estate planning. Arrive early there will be prizes and lots of fun!

WIND Retreat

The Women’s Department of Starlight COGIC, 2800 Bob Hall Road in Orange, is hosting WIND Retreat 2014 at LaTorretta Lake Resort in Montgomery, Texas from Friday, April 11 - Sunday, April 13, with great speakers and food. The theme for the retreat is “Breakthrough.” There will be several powershops, including a Singles class, a Marriage class, a First Ladies class, “Walking with the Wounded,” Pray Until Breakthrough Comes and others.
