Time to take a stand

ORANGE — How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.

The place of unity is the place of power. Whether we want to believe it or not this is where we are finding our city. If any of us have been close to the main stream communications in our city we have heard about the concerns facing our city and the building of the Sons of Confederate Veterans memorial. The root of this concern is not about black and white, this is spiritual warfare.

Jesus speaks to this that “every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.”

Our city is growing; we have just celebrated the Bass Masters bring major positive profit and attention to Orange Texas. If we don’t come together in unity and take a stand against any and all motives, symbols and propaganda that looks to breed disorder, discrimination and discord. We can find ourselves in a very uncomfortable place. What is it really going to take to get us to that powerful place of unity? Will it take “YOUR” child being hurt or killed, husband or father being beaten, daughter being violated, house being burned, burglarized or vandalized? Will it take “YOUR” son being sentenced to death? Will it take taxes going up to pay for the legal fees the city will incur against law suits?

Please don’t act like it won’t or can’t happen here. Trayvon Martin was coming home from the store with a pack of skittles in his pocket. The Orlando Sentinel reports that the homeowners association settled a wrongful death suit in excess of $1 million dollars and it cost Sanford City Hall over $603,000 in legal fees. Question, how much is the lives of “YOUR” love one worth? I thought so. Let’s invest in unity now and be proactive to prevent any event that will bring a black cloud over our city or lives being lost. Let’s put away pride and promote positive prosperity.

Proverbs 13:22 says that a good man leaves and inheritance to his children’s children.

If we don’t come together; take a stand; what will our children inherit? We have already lost lives over a flag, is one more life worth it? That life may be “YOUR” child, grandchild or even “YOURS”. Are you willing to take that gamble?

Unity, let’s take, make a stand.
