Women’s conference

Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Women of Grace will host its eighth-annual Woman’s Conference at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 at Our Mother of Mercy Church Hall, 3390 Sarah St. in Beaumont. The theme is “Whose Woman are You?” and will feature speaker Pauline Allen. Cost is $10 and includes continental breakfast and hot lunch. Vendors will be present. El Bethel Youth anniversary

The Youth Department of El Bethel Baptist Church will celebrate its anniversary at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 24. The Rev. John Smith, pastor of Greater Mt. Corinth Baptist Church of Kountze will be the special guest. and deliver the anniversary message. The youth of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Orange will conduct the opening services and ABC mime group of Port Arthur will also perform.



Pastor installation

The Rev. Tim Norris will be installed as pastor of the Shared Lutheran Ministry of St. Paul Lutheran in Lake Charles and Trinity Lutheran in Orange at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 24 at St. Paul Lutheran, 1620 E. Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles, La. The installation service will be conducted by Bishop Paul Blom of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod. Because of the installation, there will not be worship at Trinity on Sunday. Worship will continue at Trinity at 11 a.m. on July 1.  Community members are invited to attend.

 

Mt. Calvary choir annual

The senior choir of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 612 Third St. in Orange, will celebrate its 51st anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24 at the church. Special guest speaker will be Rev. James Harris of DeQuincy, La. The public is invited. For more information, call 409-886-2074.



Hartburg Baptist VBS

Hartburg Baptist Church (near Deweyville) will have its Vacation Bible School, themed “Avalanche Ranch,” from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 24-28 at the church for four-year-olds to sixth-graders. For more information, call 409-746-2841.



Central Baptist revival

Central Baptist Church, 1100 E. Railroad in Vidor, will hold an old-fashion revival at 7 p.m. June 27-30 with Evangelist, Dr. William McKnight, a 43-year minister involved in missionary crusades and television and radio media, reaches millions around the world with his International and National ministry.



McDonald Memorial VBS

McDonald Memorial Baptist Church will be having Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24 through Friday, June 29. Children ages 4 through sixth grade completed are invited to participate. The theme is “Game Day Central, Where Heroes Are Made.” Family night will take place June 29. Following family night activities, the annual carnival will feature activities for all ages. The church is located on the corner of South and Broad Streets, near Lions Park. Youth Explosion rehearsal

The Youth Explosion Choir for ages 4-9 will rehearse at 6 p.m. and ages 10-19 at 7 p.m. Monday, June 25 at El Bethel Baptist Church. The Angelic Praise Dancers will rehearse at 5 p.m. and the Tiny Tot Drill Team at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. All participants are asked to attend and be on time.



Gospel singing

New Anointing Church will have a Gospel singing at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at the church, located at 10681 N. Hwy. 87. For more information, call the church office at 409-746-9515.



Harvest men’s breakfast

Harvest Chapel will be having its monthly men’s fellowship and breakfast at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 30. For further information, contact Eugene Darwin at 409-883-4181.



Youth Explosion rehearsal

The Youth Explosion Praise Dancers, ages 10-19 will rehearse at St. Paul CME Church at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 30.

The skit group will meet at St. Paul CME at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. All participants are asked to attend and be on time.



Prayer meeting

The Seventh-day Adventist Church will have a prayer meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesdays to study the beliefs of the church based on bible texts. To get to the church, take Tulane Road north to the end and turn right; the church is on the left.



Bingo

Orange Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2775 is hosting bingo every Wednesday night. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., window at 6 p.m., and games begin at 6:30 p.m. The Ladies Auxiliary sells daubers and has the kitchen open for food, snacks and desserts. Every Thursday night is a dance open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. For more information, call the post at 409-886-9738 after noon.



Bingo

The American Legion Post in Orange offers Bingo at 6:30 p.m. every Sunday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.



Free GED classes

GOALS is offering free GED, ESL and tutoring classes. To register call 409-886-4311.
