Ebenezer Baptist Church hosts 3rd Annual Dancing in the Spirit- a Worship Experience
The Ebenezer Baptist Church Dance Ministries are the hosts of “Dancing in the Spirit - a Worship Experience” Thursday through June 10 at the MCM Elegante Hotel in Beaumont.
Ebenezer started this program in Beaumont and has seen it grow substantially over three years. With 149 participants in 2004 to 311 in 2005 and an expected attendance of 500 in this year, it is obvious that praise dance is growing in popularity. Participants are from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Illinois and the Bahamas.
Praise dancing is a Christian dance defined as a sacred and holy movement of God that sets forth to usher in the Holy Spirit and set the atmosphere for praise and worship through spiritual movement. This year’s workshop will include praise and worship, step/drill, mime, hip-hop, interpretive, warfare, praise instruments, African movements and sign language.
Children as young as 7 and adults of any age have participated in praise dancing at the Ebenzer Baptist Church’s “Dancing in the Spirit - a Worship Experience.”
Ebenezer Baptist Church wants to develop Christian dancers and educate them in the art of worship dance with biblical support.
Ebenzer’s Dance in the Spirit- a Worship Experience is a way to educate and enlighten society of an age-old tradition in modern times.
