Orange man robbed at gunpoint

ORANGE — A walk to one’s car was anything but normal for one man on Saturday.

A man, walking towards his vehicle in a parking lot at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday at the 3300 block of Ridgemont, noticed a van backing into a parking spot. Recognizing the driver of the vehicle he said hello to the man, according to police reports.

The passenger of the van approached the man walking, pointed a gun towards his head and demanded money.

The man said he did not have any money on him, only his cell phone and car keys.

The assailant then point the gun at the victim’s legs and again demanded money.

The victim threw his cell phone on the hood of the van and fled on foot.

The Galaxy 16GB cell phone is valued at $600.

City of Orange Police Department responded to the call.

The investigation is ongoing.
