Special to The Leader
The Orange Leader
On Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 8:41 AM, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a shooting in the 3300 block of Elk Dr. in Orangefield.
Upon arrival, Deputies found a white male with a gunshot wound to his head and neck. The gunshot victim was identified as Clinton Tony Fuselier, a 69 year old Bridge City resident. Fuselier was transported by a personal vehicle to the Baptist Hospital-Orange, and then later transferred to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The injuries were non-life threatening. Fuselier was alert and talking.
Deputies determined that the incident occurred at a trailer park in the 3300 block of Elk Drive. The victim, Tony Fuselier, is the owner of the trailer park. The suspect, Terry Lee Koelliker, W/M, who is 63 years old, is a tenant in the trailer park. Fuselier was checking the properties in the trailer park when Koelliker approached Fuselier while holding a shot gun. Koelliker shot once and Fuselier was struck by the pellets in the side of his head and neck. Deputies arrived on scene as Fuselier was leaving in a personal vehicle to seek medical treatment at the hospital.
Koelliker was also still on scene when Deputies arrived. He was placed in custody without incident. Koelliker was transported to the Orange County Jail where he remains in custody on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree Felony.
The cause of the shooting is still under investigation; however, it appears to stem from an earlier dispute. The investigation is ongoing.
