Bicyclist killed in collision

VIDOR —

A man was struck and killed while riding a bicycle at approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday at the 500 block of Orange Street in Vidor.

Randy Holley, 32, of Valley Mills, Texas was struck when a Jeep Wrangler driven by James Lunsford of Winnie left the road way, according to a press release from the Vidor Police Department, left the roadway and over the sidewalk.

The vehicle struck Holley and a utility pole.

Holley was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Janice Menard.

Lunsford suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A blood sample was obtained from Lunsford and will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety Laboratory for analysis.

An autopsy will be conducted on Holley.

The incident remains under investigation.
