VISD offers fun summer camp events
Boys in Vidor ISD Community Education’s summer basketball camp had a great time this past week learning skills and drills. Other camps, which are open to anyone, not just Vidor residents, this summer are cooking, animals, princess camp, pirates, girls’ volleyball, drama, arts and crafts, science, soccer, and running. WO-C CISD announces Summer Feeding Program
The West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District’s Summer Feeding program is in operation now at two locations: West Orange-Stark Elementary and West Orange-Stark High School.

West Orange–Cove campus Teachers of the Year were recognized at a special awards ceremony on May 29. They are, from left, Kurt Reeves, West Orange–Stark High School; Ola Conner, North Early Learning Center; Superintendent James Colbert; Yokishia Hope, WO-S Middle School; and Callie Orebo, WO-S Elementary. Orebo received the WO-C District Teacher of the Year Award as well.

Richard receives Golden Bear award
Jacob Richard, at right, pictured with Dr. Terri Estes, claimed the Golden Bear award at a special awards ceremony at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School on May 29. The Golden Bear, which is a teacher-nominated position to pay tribute to a student, who throughout his or her high school career, has shown outstanding leadership and personal qualities that exemplify the best of what teachers and administrators want to see in LC-M High School graduates.
Local students named to Dean's List at Texas State
Texas State University has announced that the following students have been named to the dean's list for the 2014 spring semester:
WO-C CISD offers $3,000 stipend for teachers in hard-to-staff areas
Teachers who teach secondary math, secondary science, or a foreign language will receive a $3,000 stipend beginning next school year in the West Orange-Cove school system.
