Meet the Teacher set for LC-M CISD

LITTLE CYPRESS — Little Cypress Intermediate will hold Meet the Teacher for all students on from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday. Little Cypress Elementary, Mauriceville Elementary, Mauriceville Middle, and Little Cypress Junior High will hold their Orientations and Meet the Teacher events on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Mauriceville Middle School parents can pick up their students' schedules at 3 p.m., Aug. 22, and students and parents will follow a short bell period to meet all of the students' teachers from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Mauriceville Elementary will host a combined Meet the Teacher and Parent Orientation from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22. The event begins with a brief welcome at 5 p.m. in the MMS gym. Rosters will be posted at 5 p.m. near each grade level. At that time, parents and students will be released to go to their new teachers classrooms.There will be three sessions of Meet the Teacher and Parent Orientation to accommodate parents with multiple students. The first session will begin at 5:05 p.m., the second session at 5:30 p.m., and the final session at 5:55 p.m.

Little Cypress Elementary will combine the annual Meet the Teacher and Parent Orientation from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22. Information on the Title Program will be presented in the cafeteria beginning at 5 p.m. Parents of students in the PLUS Program are invited to attend an informational meeting held in the library that will also begin at 5 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., parents and students will visit their teacher's classroom. Rosters will be posted near each grade level hallway and two sessions of Meet the Teacher and Parent Orientation will be offered to accommodate parents with students in multiple schools. The first session will begin at 5:45 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. Both sessions will cover the same information, so parents may select the one that best fits their schedules. Please use the rear parking lot and enter the building from the back to alleviate traffic congestion in the front of the  building. If you have questions, call the school at 409-886-2838.

Little Cypress Junior High will also have Meet the Teacher and Parent Orientation on Thursday Aug. 22. Sixth Graders and their parents will meet in the cafeteria at 2 p.m. for orientation and all other students, in grade seven and eight, may pick up their schedules in the cafeteria at 2:30 p.m. There will be a football meeting in the boys gym at 3:30 p.m.

    Dr. Jay Killgo, Superintendent of Schools for the Vidor Independent School District, was the guest speaker at the Vidor Friends of the Library meeting this past week. Killgo discussed goals for the upcoming year for Vidor ISD and shared success stories, such as improved test scores and student achievement.

  • Summer Camp Fun VISD offers fun summer camp events

    Boys in Vidor ISD Community Education’s summer basketball camp had a great time this past week learning skills and drills. Other camps, which are open to anyone, not just Vidor residents, this summer are cooking, animals, princess camp, pirates, girls’ volleyball, drama, arts and crafts, science, soccer, and running.
