Special to The Leader
WEST ORANGE —
Hutcherson Hill, Principal of West Orange – Stark High School, has announced his resignation, effective Nov. 29.
Hill is resigning to take a position within the San Antonio Independent School District’s Human Resources Office.
He has served as principal of WO-S High School since August 2010.
“We are happy to see that Mr. Hill has the opportunity to advance his career. It is flattering that a large school district like San Antonio is able to see the potential and value in our employees. We appreciate all that Mr. Hill has done for the High School and his students; he will be greatly missed,” Superintendent James Colbert said.
As West Orange – Stark High School’s principal, Hill led the project to earn an Academy of Engineering, or more specifically a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Academy designation for the High School. The designation was awarded by the National Academy Foundation to West Orange - Stark High School this summer.
Upon Hill’s departure, West Orange – Stark Academic Alternative Center Site Coordinator Rod Anderson will serve as WO-S High School Interim Principal.
“I feel confident in Mr. Anderson’s leadership abilities. I feel strongly that he will assist in continuing the academic success of our High School. He has experience with the High School campus and staff. He embraces the leadership style that we have come to expect from all our leaders within West Orange – Cove CISD,” Colbert said.
Ronald Wright, West Orange – Stark High School Academic Coordinator, will serve as Interim Site Coordinator at the Academic Alternative School. Wright previously served as lead teacher at the facility.
Anderson and Wright will both serve in their interim roles until the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
