LITTLE CYPRESS —
Residents of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville school district will be able to hear information first hand this week about the upcoming bond election.
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District will hold two public forums this week to provide information to the public on details on how funds from the proposed bond election, which will be held on Saturday, May 11, would be utilized within the district.
The first of two meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 15, inside the cafeteria of Mauriceville Middle School, which is located at 19952 FM 1130 in the community of Mauriceville. The second meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 18, inside the cafeteria of Little Cypress Junior High, which is located at 6586 FM 1130 in Orange.
District officials will be on hand to provide details, including artists renderings and floor plans, of the proposed campus changes which are at the heart of the proposed bond election.
“The community forums are an excellent opportunity for taxpayers to see presentations and have their questions answered on all aspects of the bond,” said Greg Perry, assistant superintendent. “Including exactly what is in the proposed building program and how it will affect their taxes.”
A brochure, with early and actual election-day voting locations and times, as well as details of the bond plan, has been mailed to registered voters and parents of students in the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District. The information is also available on the district’s website at www.lcmcisd.org.
People who are unable to attend, but who have questions, may direct those to Perry or to Dr. Pauline Hargrove, superintendent of LC-M CISD, by calling 409-883-2232.
