BRIDGE CITY — All five Orange County school districts, as well as Lamar State College-Orange, have announced delays to the start of the school day on Friday.
Lamar State College-Orange has announced it will delay the start of school on Friday (Jan. 24, 2014) until 10 a.m. for all students and faculty due to the threat of inclement weather.
Bridge City ISD and West Orange-Cove CISD have just announced they will delay the start of school on Friday too.
All Bridge City ISD schools will begin at 10 a.m., Friday. Buses will run two hours later than normal. Classes will dismiss at normal times.
West Orange – Cove CISD will delay the start of school by two hours at all campuses Friday, Jan. 24. The delayed start will apply to all campuses and facilities. All students and staff should plan to report to class or work two hours later than normal.
The WO-C school district is closely monitoring the freezing weather forecast for this area and the accompanying impact on roadways. If necessary, any additional decision regarding additional changes in school start times or school closure will be made and communicated Friday morning.
Vidor ISD and LC-M CISD will begin classes two hours later than normal. Buses will run two hours later than usual as well.
Orangefield ISD will begin all classes at 10:30 a.m., Friday.
Also, Deweyville ISD in southern Newton County, will start school two hours late at all campuses.
