LC-M Prose and Poetry students find success in Nederland

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School University Interscholastic UIL Prose and Poetry team, under the direction of Theater Director Cory Broom, attended the Nederland Academic Practice Meet this past weekend and came away with several honors.

The LC-M team traveled to Nederland on Saturday, Jan. 21. Students advanced through three difficult rounds of competition as three LC-M students earned spots in the finals. Students advancing include seniors Aaron Alford, third place in poetry; Emily Dodd, fifth Place in Prose; and freshman Triston Stringer, sixth place in poetry.

Combined with Debate Team scores, the LC-M Speaking Team won First Place overall at the tournament.
