Orange Knights of Columbus award two $500 scholarships

ORANGE — Knights of Columbus, Orange Council No. 1680, awards two $500 scholarships each year to one deserving student from St. May and St. Therese parishes who are going to college or university following graduation form high school, in recognition of outstanding leadership in academics and student, church and civic activities. The scholarships were presented at the Masses honoring the graduating high school seniors at the respective churches.

A scholarship was awarded on May 18 to Curt Blaise Hawkins, who graduated from Orangefield Hugh School. The scholarship was presented at St. Mary Church by J.D. Gallet, financial secretary of Orange council No. 1680.

A second scholarship was awarded to Antonio Miguel Warnell on June 2 at St. Therese Church by Arthur Ray Broomes, chairman of the Orange council No. 1680 scholarship committee. Warnell graduated from West Orange- Stark High School.
