Middle school drama club will host community Haunted House event

ORANGE — The West Orange–Stark Middle Drama Club invites the community to enjoy Halloween in their “Haunted House” on Saturday, Oct. 31.

“It is our first major production of the year and it will be suitable for most ages. It will be a safe alternative to trick or treating,” Clark Reed, West Orange-Stark Middle School drama instructor, said.

The Halloween event will be presented through tour guides who will lead small groups through the “Haunted House.”

The recommended age of tour guests is six and older.

“It is more of a play than anything,” Clark added. “There is a theme that the tour guides carry throughout. There will be stops in different rooms throughout the school. Each room will have a small scene for the audience to observe and move on. It will also be somewhat interactive with the audience.”

The “Haunted House” will be open for tours from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday. Each tour will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

Children younger than middle school age will only be allowed to tour the house with their parent.

The “Haunted House” will begin at the West Orange-Stark Middle School Girls’ gym. Admission is $5 for adults, and $2 for students.

The event is sponsored by the West Orange-Stark Middle School Drama Club. Funds raised will support drama field trips and tournaments.
