Middle school choir students earn All-Region Honors

Four West Orange–Stark Middle School students will perform with the Texas Music Educator’s Middle School Region X Choir in concert Nov. 14.

Ruth Hartfield, Kirstie Farrell, Laquarious Paige, and Erica Paige were four of a select group of 120 to be selected for the prestigious choir.

Ruth Hartfield, a soprano, ranked 14th out of more than 320 sopranos.

Kirstie Farrell, alto, ranked 15th out of more than 280 altos.

Laquarious Paige, baritone, ranked 21st out of all basses.

Erica Paige, alto, ranked 7th out of more than 320 sopranos. The ranking qualifies her to sing in both the Girls’ Choir and the Mixed Choir in the region choir concert.

Approximately 1,100 students from throughout the region auditioned at the Region X event. They were from Orange to as far away as Jasper, Sabine Pass, Port Arthur, Liberty and Baytown, and including all schools in between.

Donald Ball is the WO-S Middle School Choir Director.

The Region X Choir will perform a concert at 4 p.m., Nov. 14 at First Baptist Church of Vidor.
