LC-M will hold blood drives this month

Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, in the lobby of the school’s auditorium.

LC-M is participating, with eight other area schools, to see who can bring in the most blood donations from Sept. 1 through Dec. 18. The winner of the contest will be given a car by Philpott Motors to be used as an attendance incentive for the second semester of school. Each student with no more than one absence from the beginning of the January 2010 school term through May 15, 2010, will be eligible to win the car.

The names of the students who qualify as potential winners will go into a drawing from which a winner will be randomly selected. The official give-away will take place on the high school campus during an assembly prior to the end of the 2009-2010 school year.

Another LC-M drive will be held in December to help with holiday blood supplies. Other schools participating in the contest are: Nederland, Lumberton, West Orange-Stark, Bridge City, Hamshire-Fannett, West Brook, Legacy Christian, and Vidor.
