Annual Honey Bears fundraiser set for Oct. 3

On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Honey Bears will host its fourth Bulls and Barrels Rodeo at the Orange County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Arena. Open to the public, this event will consist of a Bull Riding and Barrel Racing competition produced by SYJ Productions.

There will be a calf scramble and muttin’ bustin’ for the kids. An audience favorite, Calf Dressing, will be as funny as ever, plus much more. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the event begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger; while children age 2 and under are free.

School teams wishing to participate in calf-dressing should contact Deann Lumpkin at dlumpkin@lcmcisd.org. Rodeo contestants should call SYJ Productions at 409-745-1471 to register.

The Honey Bears would like to invite the community to take this opportunity to gather the entire family for a night of food and fun for all. Proceeds from the event will serve as the major fund-raiser for 2009 - 2010 and will be used to support the Honey Bears throughout the year.
