Fathers it’s time to be smart when it comes to health

Dads are unique in so many ways. Fathers never ask for much from their children except respect, a few hours to watch the game and the big piece of chicken.
Yet Sunday is the day we take time to thank the men who brought us into this world and can certainly “take us out.”
(Quick personal story. I was always most talkative in church on Sundays. Well one Sunday Dad had enough and decided a trip to the restroom for some discipline is what I needed. I got it worse when I let out a loud “Somebody pray for me.” Sorry Pop.)
These men are giants in their sons’ and daughters’ worlds. Nothing can take them down.
The Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program is here to remind fathers they can get sick. So from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday the program will administer more than 200 medically Southeast Texas men at Beaumont Baptist Hospital.
So take the time fathers to take care of yourself for a change.
We have appreciated your dedication to the family in the past. This weekend take care of you.
Happy Fathers Day to you all and especially the hog-riding man I call Dad over in Tennessee.
