ORANGE — Thomas Earl Maberry, 60, of Orange, passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on Monday, December 9, 2013 in the early morning after a struggle with illness.
Born on September 15, 1953 in Orange, Texas to his parents, Loyd Irvin Mabery and Juanita Mae (Pennington) Maberry, he was a lifelong resident of Orange and he worked as a Welder and a Mechanic within the shipbuilding and repair industry. Thomas was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Orange. Thomas was a very caring person who will be remembered for his ability to fix things, he most enjoyed fixing lawn mowers, assisting his friends and neighbors in need and most of all, the love he held for his family and friends.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; those who will most cherish his memory are his fiancée and caretaker, Norma Flanagan of Orange; his sisters, Phyllis Kessler and husband, Ronald of Call, Texas, Linda Reyes and husband, Robert of Mauriceville and Karon LeBleu of Call; his brother, Michael Maberry and wife, Jean of Call. In addition, Thomas is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and members of his extended family and a host of friends.
Services to remember and honor Thomas’s life will be at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with Reverend K. Ray McDowell, officiating. Cremation is expected to follow the services.
A gathering of Thomas’s family and friends for a time of reflection and sharing will be from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. just prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.
