Mildred (Davis) Johnson 88, of Deweyville, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was born on September 6, 1924 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to her parents, Ezra E. Davis and Jessie P. (Daniels) Davis. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville having moved there in 1965. Mildred will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Msgt (Ret.) Percy Leroy Johnson, her brothers, Doyleton Davis, Sr. and Brice Davis and her sister, Geneva (Davis) Petty. Those who will cherish her memory are her son Jon David Johnson (Natalie Smith) of Deweyville, daughters, Cathy Knouff (Jerry Orr) of Maryville, Tennessee and Patti Taylor (Husband, Paul Taylor) of Little Cypress, grandchildren, Jeremy Knouff (Mandy) Kevin Knouff (Charissa), Ryan Knouff (Brittany) all of Maryville, Tennessee, Paul Michael Taylor of Louisville, Kentucky, Philip Taylor (Brandi) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Patrick Taylor, and Peyton Taylor of Orange, Texas and six great grandchildren, Scott, Garrett, Karys, Kolton, Cooper and Caden. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. Funeral service to honor her life will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the church. Brother John Fortenberry, pastor of the church as well as Mildred’s grandson, Paul Michael Taylor will be officiating.
