Carroll Wayne Hodgkinson

The Orange Leader

ORANGE — Carroll Wayne Hodgkinson, 67, of Orange, TX, passed away at his earthly home and went to his heavenly home to be with his Savior on Thursday, September, 20, 2012.  Carroll was born on July 9, 1945 to Fred Hodgkinson and Nora Hooper.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gene and Fred Hodgkinson, and parent-in-laws, Alton and Esther Frazee. Carroll is survived by his wife of 19 years, Dee Frazee Hodgkinson of Orange; son, Shawn Hodgkinson of Mauriceville; daughters Heather Hodgkinson Stout of Bridge City and Sharee Hodgkinson of Orange; step-son, Terry Statum, Jr. and wife Jenny of Starks, La; 8 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 1 great grandson.  He is also survived by brothers-in-law Alton J Frazee, Jr and wife Tammy, Ronnie Frazee, Ray Frazee and wife Kris of Florida, sister-in-law Aletha Jackson and husband Curtis of Orange, TX, and a host of friends and family left behind to cherish special memories of a great man. He loved to hunt, play dominoes and cards, and after his retirement after 31 years of service at Bayer in Orange he especially loved golf.  He loved his time at the “office” and enjoyed all the good times there.  Carroll served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard for 4 years from 1965 – 1969.  He was also a member of American Legion, Post 49, for 13 years. Carroll’s greatest love in life was his family and friends. The hugs, kisses, joking, story-telling and clowning were enjoyed by all, especially him.   He never missed an opportunity to say how proud he was of his wife and all of his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchild.  No greater man existed in his family’s eyes.  He will be missed as a husband and soul mate, father, and Big Daddy. You fought the good fight and built us strong.  Thank you for letting us love you.  Go rest high on that mountain. According to Carroll’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial.  The previously scheduled benefit will be held and a tribute will be given there.
