ORANGE — William Henry “ Bill “ Johnson, 83, of Bridge City, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Born on July 29, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas to his parents, Ludy Odell Johnson and Rosie M. (Riley) Johnson, he grew up in Nederland and lived in Bridge City for the last 51 years. Bill was an electrician in the construction industry where he worked with the I. B. E. W. Local 479 with a 60 year membership in good standing. He was a member of the Cowboy Church of Orange County, he enjoyed doing genealogy research, travel and spending time with his family. Bill was especially close to his children and grandchildren and he cherished each one of them dearly. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Thomas Johnson and his first wife, Peggy Brady Johnson. Those who will most cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Wynona Johnson of Bridge City; his daughter, Debra Rasmussen and husband, Ronald of Blaine, Washington; his sons, William Michael Johnson and wife, Susie of Orange and Thomas Mark Johnson and wife, Donna of Pearland; his sister, Betty Alegre and husband, Gene of Colmesneil; his eight grandchildren, Megan Johnson, William Shores and wife, Katy, Angie Lancaster, Terrina Hendry and husband, Bobby, Kevin Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Tara Robin and husband, Scott and Walker Johnson; his great grandchildren, Ayana, Talin, Madden, Madison, Makayla, Michael, Carson and Bryson. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services by which to celebrate Bill’s life will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Cowboy Church of Orange County, 673 F. M. 1078, Orange, Texas 77632.
A gathering of Bill’s family and friends will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. just prior to the service at the church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.
