MONT BELVIEU —
John Lee Hall, 79, of Mont Belvieu, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Born December 4, 1933 in Rapids City, Wisconsin to his late parents, Stanley Clifford Hall and Bina Leslie Hall, he moved to Orange, Texas as a young boy and was a Texan most of his life. Mr. Hall attended Sam Houston State University after serving in the Army and was known by Jackie to his close friends and relatives.
Jackie was a proud longtime resident of Mont Belvieu, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He cherished his relationships with family and friends that he cultivated over the years and left this world with no regrets. His good natured demeanor and frequent candor made him an excellent conversationalist. Most of all he enjoyed supporting his grandchildren and attending their activities.
Jackie invested many years as a teacher and principal for the Barbers Hill Independent School District where his wife also worked and his daughters attended. His many years of labor and advocacy on behalf of Barbers Hill Homecoming and Scholarship Association that he helped found reflected his conviction in the value of education. Through his leadership, students learned to love competition, sportsmanship and teamwork. From his passion for teaching, they learned to dream and to expect to achieve great things.
Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Frances Buchanan Hall and sister, Ellen Hall DeShazo. He is survived by his daughters, Gay Lynne Carameros and her husband Carl, Kellee Hamlin and her husband Glynn, and Pennee Hall; grandchildren, Jessica Rensimer and her husband Andrew, Alan Carameros, Jared Carameros, Reid Carameros, Phillip Carameros, Ian Hamlin, Stuart Hamlin and Conlee Hamlin; great-grandchild, Emma Rensimer; sisters and brother, Patricia Thibodeaux, Stanley Hall and his wife Martha, and Audre Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
