Virginia Ellen Burch

Virginia Ellen Burch

ORANGE — Virginia Ellen was welcomed into the world by her father, Baxter Bennett; mother, Reba; older brother, Tom; and sister, Grace; on May 1, 1932 in Monroe City, MO.  She soon had the company of brothers Amos, Bill, Dean, and sister, Kay.

There were difficult times in those early years, but the family weathered the Depression Era and landed in Orange, TX.  Virginia graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1949 and in 1950 she completed business courses at Lamar College Vocational Division.  She also started one of the first Telephone Answering Services in Orange, Texas out of her home, becoming a successful entrepreneur. (That’s what they had before voicemail, Facebook, Twitter, cell phones, etc…)

On December 28, 1950 Virginia married A.G. Burch. Soon they were the proud parents of Blane, Brian, Neil, Kelley, Ellen, and Barry.

There were many challenges in her life, but none greater than the loss of her two sons, Blane and Neil.

Today, she has many grandchildren who will miss her, their names are Natasha and Patrick, Jessica and Ryan, Wesley, Margie and Victor, Autumn and Yoan, Seasun and Cody, Shaleah, Brevon, Micaela and Bryan, Elisa and Troy, Aaron and Ana, Alan and Jennifer, Savannah and Xavier; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Dylan, Emma, Ava, Malerie, Vincent, Griffin, Erica, John Alan, Justice, Corbin, Quinn, Ethan, Aria, Kathleen, Elaine; and a great-great-grandson, Ryder.

She will be missed by many friends and family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 7841 North Hwy 87, Orange, TX.
