STARKS — Allie Burris, 74, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, in a local care center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Starks where she was a member of First Pentecostal Church. Allie enjoyed drawing, painting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Billie Jean Hofford and husband, Billy of Orange, Texas, Lucille Mae Vincent and husband, Ricky of Port Arthur, Texas, Faye Elaine Mullenax and husband, Aaron of Conway, Arkansas, Linda Lee Reeves and husband, Jeff of Slidell, Roy Leonard Burris and wife, Cheryl of Victoria, Texas, and Jeffery Lynn Burris of Starks; two sisters, Edna Hollier of Lake Arthur and Danetta Elkins of Orange, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her spouses, Billie Burris and Willie O'Quain; a son, Bobby Ross Burris; two brothers, George and James Ashworth; and two sisters, Hazel Corbett and Vera Lee Johnson.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, in the Emalie O'Brien Center in Starks. The Rev. Greg Frazier will officiate. Visitation will be in the Emalie O'Brien Center on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
