Paul Rene Jagen

ORANGE — Paul Rene Jagen, 60, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on April 11, 2013 at his home in Georgetown, Texas. Paul was born on August 5, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert and Hildegard Jagen.

Paul is survived by wife Betty Jagen, of Georgetown; parents Robert and Hildegard Jagen of Sun City West, AZ; brother Karl Jagen and wife Ela of St. Charles, IL; aunt Patricia Jagen of Palatine, IL; sisters-in-law Nancy Clark and Helen Barna; brother-in-law Gary Clark; nephews Eric Jagen, Kurt Jagen, and Matt Ceaser; and niece Jodi Ceaser.

Paul earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Working his entire career for DuPont, he retired from the Orange, Texas plant, after 36 years with the company. Most of his career focused on reducing energy consumption at company plant sites, and during that time he became a Six Sigma Black Belt. Paul was an active member of the Sabine River Toastmasters Club, and also served as Toastmasters Area Governor. In 2002, he was honored with the "Jefferson Award" for his work in creating Toastmasters clubs in Southeast Texas Prisons, and he went on to create a non-profit organization that provided expertise and “seed money” to help others start Toastmasters prison clubs worldwide. Paul and Betty attend Newchurch Georgetown and are members of First United Methodist Church in Orange.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, April 15, 2013, at Ramsey Funeral Home, Georgetown, TX. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Ramsey Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain W. C. “Dub” Falsoni officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Newchurch Georgetown, First United Methodist Church (6th St.), Orange, TX, or to District 68 Toastmasters prison clubs (make checks payable to “Randy Conley” at 3385 Foxbriar Lane, Beaumont, TX 77706).
