Theresa "Tee" Arrnett Ristom Bowers

Theresa "Tee" Arrnett Ristom Bowers, age 87, a native of Geneva, Texas and a resident of Starks, La., died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Saint Elizabeth in Beaumont, Texas. She was a faithful member of DeQuincy United Methodist Church for over 28 years. She was also a member of the Church "Cooley - Harmony" Circle. Known as "Tee", she will forever be remembered as a kind and giving lady that loved life and people. "Tee" loved fishing and especially shopping. "Tee", along with her husband were the owners of "Ristoms Grocery" in Starks for over 15 years. She was also the Vice President of Sabine Insulation for over 35 years. Above all that she loved in this life, nothing compared to the love she had for her family. "Tee" was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way.

She was the daughter of the late George Ristom Sr. and the late Susie Matthews Ristom.

She is survived by her One Son, Albert L. "Dutch" Bowers and his wife Lisa Annette of Starks, La. Two grandchildren Lauren Para and her husband Dr. Brett Para Chase McKinney Bowers and his wife Laura

Six great-grandchildren Beth Ann Para, Peyton Para, Walker Para, Matthew Para, Maddie Bowers and Nate Bowers Two Sister In Laws,

Louise Bowers Folse of The Colony, Texas, Louise Ristom of Denton, Texas

She was preceded in death by her parents, Her husband of over 52 years - Albert L. Bowers Sr., One Brother - George Anthony Ristom Jr. Two Sisters - Juanita Hawthorne and Dr. Ouida Sue Davis.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Christensen Funeral Home in DeQuincy, La. Visitation will resume from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday, July 2, 2009 at DeQuincy United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be at DeQuincy United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 2, 2009 with the Rev. Jerry Crise and the Rev. Terry Lee officiating. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles, La.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the NRA or the DeQuincy Methodist Church buliding fund.
