Bridge City Independent School District earned an Academically Acceptable rating in 2007, dropping from Recognized status in 2006.
Hatton Elementary, Sims Elementary and Bridge City Intermediate all earned Acceptable ratings this year, which is down from 2006 ratings as Recognized campuses.
Bridge City Middle School maintained its Acceptable rating for the fourth-consecutive year, while Bridge City High School earned an Acceptable score for the third-straight year.
For the second-consecutive year, the Orangefield Independent School District earned a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency.
Orangefield Elementary campus earned a Recognized rating for the fourth-consecutive year, while Orangefield Junior High earned its second straight Recognized rating.
Orangefield High School earned an Acceptable rating for the third-straight year, which helped the district achieve its mark.
The Vidor Independent School District has earned its fourth-consecutive Academically Acceptable rating from the state since 2004.
Vidor Elementary and Pine Forest Elementary schools earned a Recognized rating for the fourth-straight year, while Oak Forest Elementary earned its third-straight Recognized rating. Vidor Middle School earned Recognized status for the second consecutive school year.
Vidor Junior High School and Vidor High School both earned Acceptable ratings in 2007.
This is the second-straight year the junior high has earned this status and the third year in a row for the high school.
The Deweyville Independent School District, located in extreme south Newton County, earned an Academically Acceptable rating for at least the fourth-straight year.
Deweyville Elementary earned an Acceptable status this year, after being declared a Recognized campus in 2005 and 2006.
Deweyville Middle School improved over its 2005 and 2006 Acceptable ratings by earning Recognized status this year.
Deweyville High School, which also earned Acceptable ratings in 2005 and 2006, dropped to Unacceptable status in 2007.
