About 30 people, some armed with knives and baseball bats, clashed Monday night in the Cove area, sending several people to the hospital.
A 17-year-old man suffered a stab wound in the abdomen and was transported too Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital-Orange. He was moved to a Beaumont hospital, and his condition could not be updated as of press time.
A 24-year-old man a 16-year-old boy suffered wounds from a baseball bat and were transferred to Memorial-Orange. Also injured with a bat was a 39-year-old woman who tried to break up the fight. Condition reports were not available as of press time.
When Orange Police Department officers responded about 11:30 p.m. Monday night to a fight in the 800 block of Livingston, they found an 18-year-old man with stab wounds to his left shoulder and back. He was transferred to Memorial-Orange where he received 17 stitches. He was treated and released from the hospital.
According to reports, the 18-year-old was getting out of his car at a friend’s house when someone busted out one of the car’s windows. As he got out of his car, someone lunged at him with a box cutter and the two fought.
A neighbor reported a similiar incident happened last week involving men with pipes. However, the incident was quickly resolved by the police.
The Orange Police Department is still investigating Monday’s fight.
