The Port Arthur News and The Orange Leader invited our readers to send in tributes to those who have been touched b y breast cancer. Many of them did. Here are the tributes that were printed in a special section on Sunday, Oct. 13.


Jeanette Broussard Marshall

Jeanette Broussard Marshall, a wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, God still has a plan for you on earth that's why he's blessed you to be a survivor and that plan is for you to tell of his goodness and bless and encourage others to believe.



Ethel Willis McClenon

Mother of Joan Johnson, Ethel Boudoin, Linda Pierson, Floyd McClenon, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Halretha Jones, Odessa Jackson, Harriet Willis. Aug.  26, 1923 - Feb. 13, 2012. 29 years with cancer

Pat passed away in 2011 from Breast Cancer. She was a humorous, fun loving, kind hearted wife, mother, grandmother & co-worker who is missed & will always be remembered.

Gladys Wilson Hollins

This is Ms. Gladys Wilson-Hollins, a social worker with Port Arthur ISD. Diagnosed with Breast Cancer on June 1, 1995. She is now a breast cancer survivor. Our message to her is as follows:  You are truly a survivor in more ways than one.  Our angel here on earth.

Nancy Meiser of Hazelton, Penn.

Nancy is mom, she got breast cancer back in 1999, a month later my brother was killed.. She has been a rock in my life... She just recently this year lost her husband n another son... She has taught me that you can survive anything in life.. She is no cancer free.. I love you, Mom!
