West Orange resident killed while cutting limbs

— Michael McLain, 38, of West Orange was killed about 4:15 p.m. Monday as he was cutting limbs in the 2400 block of Bradford and a limb fell on a power line. He tried to remove the limb by using a rope, but electricity is believed to have traveled through the rope causing him to be electrocuted.
An Entergy worker was at the scene to turn the power off and to assist emergency personnel in removing McLain from the tree.
Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Derry Dunn was called out before 5 p.m. and pronounced McLain dead at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered.
