ORANGE — OCP’s ‘Mama Won’t Fly’

The Orange Community Players present the Southeast Texas premiere of “Mama Won’t Fly,” at 7:37 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23. A matinee is scheduled at 2:37 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24. Tickets are $5 for students and $12 for adults and may be purchased at the box office an hour prior to each performance, or online at www.orangecommunityplayers.com. Cowboy Church Concert

Cowboy Church on the Rock, 13803 Highway 90 at Meeker Road, will host Christian Country duo “Branded” during Sunday morning services on Feb. 24. The Branded Duo blends together the talents of award winning singers/songwriters, Paul Staggs and Robert Wm. Welch. These two have teamed up to be Christian Country’s premier duo. With numerous awards to their credit, they have 10 top ten songs with CCRB, Awarded Vocal Duo of the Year with Inspirational Country Music for 2005, 2006 and 2007 and awarded Duo of the Year with CGC 2005. School Board

The Vidor Independent School District’s Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, at the Annex Building, 200 S. Archie, for its regularly scheduled meeting. The public is invited to attend.

Team Captain meeting

The Orange County Relay for Life will hold a month Team Captain meetings on Monday, Feb. 25. The Team Captain meetings will be held at the Lamar State College – Orange Wilson Building, Room 101. The Feb. 25 meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m. Additional team captain meetings are scheduled for: March 25 and April 22. All Team Captain meetings are directed at planning for the Orange County Relay for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, which will be held May 3 – 4, 2013 at Bridge City High School from 6:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “A Little Bit of Texas, A Whole Lot of Hope.” Individuals or teams interested in becoming involved with this event are invited to attend the meeting and register on-line at www.OrangeCountyRelay.org
