McDonald’s shows health score ‘Mc’improvements


McDonald’s #410, 1710 North 16th Street in Orange, made improvements since the last health inspection in November. A recent follow-up inspection for compliance showed the restaurant scored a 97 out of a possible 100. The demerits are for a cooler that was in need of being cleaned inside.

Kim Wah Buffet located at 150 Strickland in Orange also received a follow-up inspection and showed some improvement towards compliance of Orange County health code regulations. The establishment received an 89 out of a possible 100. Demerits are for storing pans on top of ready to eat foods, in need of covering foods in the cooler, and several roaches found.

Kotoyama located at 2226 MacArthur Drive in Orange, recently investigated received a 64 out of a possible 100 health score. The demerits are for having two rice cookers sitting on the floor, an employees drink inside the cooler, in need of dating foods in the cooler, stacking towels on top of lettuce inside the cooler, defrosting shrimp inside sink, defrosting fish inside the hand-wash sink, soap and towels needed at the hand-washing station, and several roaches found throughout the kitchen.


Other scores include:

• Flava- Foods located at 410 Front Street in Orange. Score: 97. Demerits are for vents above the fryers are in need of being cleaned.

• Mutt & Jeff’s located at 110A South Main Street in Vidor. Score: 100.

• Sonic located at 1265 Texas Avenue in Bridge City. Score: 94. Demerits are for a cooler in need of repair and the area around the toaster in need of being cleaned of old foods.

• Whataburger #819 located at 1905 Texas Avenue in Bridge City. Score: 94. Demerits are for area above the grill in need of being cleaned of old grease and storage racks in need of being replaced.

• Wendy’s #50 located at 3113 Edgar Brown Drive in Orange. Score: 97. Demerits are for several gnats found.

• Little Caesar’s Pizza located at 866 North Main Street in Vidor. Score: 93. Demerits are for the need of hair restraints, and storage equipment in need of being cleaned of old foods.
