ORANGE — GED Test Dates

Vidor ISD announces that GED tests are changing beginning in January 2014. Those who are currently working on the test process must complete it in 2013 or start the process over from the beginning. The 2013 test dates for GED at the AIM Center High School are Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, and March 20 and March 21. Dates are subject to change, and more dates will be held each following month, so check with the testing centers at 951-8780. Examinees are expected to arrive on time. Testing begins promptly at 4:30 p.m. Doors will be locked at that time. Tutoring for the GED is also available in Vidor ISD. Call AIM Center High School for further information.

Black History Month program

Lamar State College-Orange celebrates Black History Month with Jabali Afrika, “The Rock of Afrika Comes to America,” from noon - 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26 in the student center. Call Wendy Elliott at 409-882-3097 for info.

Plate lunch fundraiser

American Legion Post 49, 108 Green Ave. in Orange, will hold a plate lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, March 7. Cost is $7 and meal consists of fried rish, potato salad, cole slaw, green beans, bread and dessert. Walk-in’s welcome and delivery available. For orders or delivery call 409-886-1241 after noon, March 6 and before 9 a.m., March 7.
