Community Trash Off
The 18th Annual Community Trash Off will be held from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9. Participants will meet at Orange Lions Den Park. Teams consist of 3-5 participants and are limited to adults and children age 12 and older. All teams must be supervised by an adult. Individuals are welcome to show up on the day of the event and will be assigned to a team for the clean-up. Call 409-670-0803 or visit www.shangrilagardens.org for registration form.
Red and White Tea
The Senior Gospel Seasoned Choir presents 28th Annual Red and White Tea from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, in the Life Center of Mount Olive Baptist Church, 106 W. Park Ave. in Orange featuring guest Marsha Guillory, owner of Marsha G’s Boutique. There will also be private collections featuring hats and ladies of the city. Admission is free and the public is invited.
Bishop Larry Phillips Sr. and Gateway Christian Church, located inside Econo Lodge at 2900 Interstate 10 in Orange, invite the public to Sunday morning worship at 11 a.m. and Wednesday worship at 7 p.m. Prophet Alvin Alves will be guest speaker at 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 10.
Green Thumb Series
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension of Orange County is holding the 2nd group of classes in the Green Thumb Series called Plant Propagation and Botany. The topics of this series are: Plant Categories and Plant Processes; Plant Parts and Functions; Flowers, Fruits, Seeds, and Germination; Environmental Factors; and Plant Nutrition and Hormones. These classes are being held at the Mauriceville Community Center (Crawfish Festival Grounds) from 6 pm to 8 pm. Classes are as scheduled: February 26, March 5, March 19, and March 26.
